Is Your Teen Learning Everything He or She Needs to Know in Driver’s Ed?

Blogs

Few things are more frightening to parents than their teens learning how to drive. Will your teen be safe on the road? Will she text while she’s driving? Will he pay more attention to his music than the road? Driver’s Education covers all of this, right? We hate to say it but not necessarily. This is why Clark’s Car Care offers a free community clinic to help teach your teen drivers car care and added safety measures to ensure they will always be safe when they are behind the wheel. Let’s talk about this more.

A Car Clinic for All Ages

We know we just said that this clinic is good for teen drivers, but, honestly, it’s good for all drivers, including those who have been driving for decades. Times have changed and so have drivers. Today’s roads are clogged with people filled with road rage who drive like, well, maniacs. We won’t candy-coat it. A refresher course on driving and automotive safety are good for everyone, not just teens.

Topics Covered in Our Car Clinic

As we said above, this clinic is designed to cover topics not discussed in Driver’s Education classes and go deeper into topics that are discussed in Driver’s Ed. For example, part of our safety discussion includes what to do when you get into an automobile accident. Panic sets in during the moments following a collision, especially in teens, and it’s important to have a plan to stick to before any incident.

Other topics we cover in our community clinic include detailed discussions of what to do when

  • You end up with a flat tire or blowout when you’re parked or while you’re driving
  • A dashboard light comes on, what it means, and when you should stop driving
  • Your oil needs to be changed, how often it needs to be changed, and what it does
  • You need to choose between synthetic or regular motor oil and their differences
  • You need to ask a mechanic questions, and the answers and service you should expect

Understanding how to handle emergencies, breakdowns, and vehicle maintenance helps your teens become responsible drivers. You get to enjoy the peace of mind of the additional education.

Call Clark’s Car Care in Naperville, IL, for more information on our free car care and safety community clinics. We would be happy to enroll your teen in the educational seminar to prepare them to be safe drivers for life.
