Clark’s Car Care donates $10,000 to local non-profit; “Care for Cars” charity Following being awarded the Synchrony Financial 2018 “Working Forward” Small Business Award and a $20,000 Grant
Clark’s Car Care was recently awarded the Synchrony Financial 2018 “Working Forward” Small Business Award – one of only ten award recipients in the nation.
The grant gives Clark’s $10,000 to use for business growth, which we plan to put toward technicians’ and customer service training.
We also received an additional $10,000 to give to our charity of choice. We chose the local charity Care for Cars, a Dupage-based organization that helps people who are struggling to get to their jobs or job interviews due to transportation issues. We have been a supporter of the program for years and knew they were very low on funding.
Established in 2013, Care for Cars works with job coaches at DuPage County nonprofits, who pass along clients who face transportation obstacles, President John Tartaglione said. No jobseeker can come to Care for Cars on his own, but those referred through job coaches can get repairs made for $200 or 20 percent of the retail value of the work — whichever is cheaper.
